  • Restoring Our Republic: The Shift Towards Accountability

For years, Democrats have mastered the art of ‘silencing opposition,’ which, let’s be real, isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. It’s less cloak-and-dagger and more like a series of unfortunate events. Banned from social media for mentioning ‘Wuhan’ or ‘vaccine’? It’s like being punished for saying ‘men don’t belong in the women’s sports’ in a world where that’s suddenly controversial. Meanwhile, independent news outlets are doing their best Houdini impression—vanishing into thin air. And don’t even get me started on the holidays—nothing says ‘family bonding’ like a Zoom call with 12 people pretending to enjoy dry turkey and awkward silence.

But here’s the kicker: not a single person responsible has faced the music—except for losing an election, courtesy of the American people who resoundingly spoke with their vote. No judge, or branch of the government did a thing, except perpetuate the madness.

On the flip side, we’ve watched Democrats transform American cities into their own personal ‘Grand Theft Auto: Block Edition’—smashing, looting, and strolling off without a handcuff in sight. Meanwhile, Republicans who dared to step foot in the Capitol on January 6th were being hunted down like they’re in an extended game of ‘Where’s Waldo?’—except, Waldo gets solitary confinement for untold years. That is, until the American people said, ‘Enough!’

And now we’re left with the lingering hate and vitriol from the losing side—the same folks who cheered on silencing their opposition, involuntary vaccinations, and jailing fellow Americans for simply exercising their First Amendment rights. So what now? We are clearly on our own. What steps are available to end this madness?

Leading by example is a good start, it’s working.

Enter Lenawee County Democrat Party and their now notorious Chair Bill Swift.

Please Click the following link to watch a video recorded at the Lenawee fair board meeting where Mr. Swift was almost unanimously voted out due to his actions on social media. Bill was also removed from the local Kiwanis Club after members and locals became concerned about his online threats against his political foes. Our voices, our votes against this perpetual madness doesn’t end with the Presidential election.

As you can see below, Lenawee County Chair, Bill Swift, the administrator of his counties Democratic Party page, wasn’t telling the whole truth in his statement to the Fair board.

How do we explain the rage, the boiling resentment, the hatred of “others” spreading across the world? Yes, our Nation is the example to the world, whether we like it or not.

The violence and division we witness are not born of our true selves but of the masks we wear—masks of fear, manipulation, and the deliberate sowing of distrust. The very tools being wielded by the Democrat Party and the Political establishment they serve. These forces thrive when we are fragmented, when we forget the core of our shared humanity.

In the face of hatred, manipulation, and lies, the greatest act of resistance we can offer is not to mirror the cruelty we are shown, but to return to the unshakable truth of our unity. When we act from a place of love, when we resist the false narratives that fuel division, we can create spaces for reconciliation, understanding, and mutual respect.

With the new leadership of our District 5 Chair. The illustrious Todd Gillman, along with the county Chairs comprising our District. The Republican party will be united in working against those who choose tyranny over liberty, whether they be Republican or Democrat. It is crucial that we remember who we are: not adversaries, but co-creators of a world where compassion and solidarity are the foundation. The time is ripe for peace—not as a passive dream, but as a transformative power that requires us to show up, speak up, and work together in love and truth.

The power to choose is not only a personal liberty—it is the foundation of our Constitutional Republic. Our nation was born from the belief that the people hold the ultimate power, that we are the stewards of our government, not the other way around. In the face of corruption, manipulation, and an ever-expanding government that has long sought to undermine our freedoms, we must remember: the power to choose is still ours.

The founders of this Republic understood the fragility of liberty. They crafted a system of checks and balances, a framework designed to safeguard the rights of the individual against the encroaching power of a centralized government. And although the political establishment has become a force that seems intent on corrupting those very principles, the truth is—the tide has already begun to turn.

The political winds have shifted, from the willingness of everyday citizens and brave leaders to stand up and expose the rot within the system. We no longer stand in the shadow of a government that is untouchable or beyond reproach. The corrupt practices that once seemed impervious to change have been laid bare. Those who have long manipulated, deceived, and divided us have been revealed.

We are no longer entrenched in a battle that feels endless. We are in a fight we are already winning. The efforts of those willing to stand against the establishment have ignited a movement—a movement of accountability, transparency, and restoration. The forces of corruption may still exist, but their grip is loosening. The people are waking up, standing united, and demanding change, not as a distant hope but as an imminent reality.

This shift is not just a political change—it’s a cultural one. The people are reclaiming their power. Every choice to speak out, to hold our leaders accountable, to reject division and false narratives is a victory in itself. These choices are no longer isolated efforts—they are part of a broader, unstoppable wave of awakening and action.

The challenge isn’t one we face alone, nor is it a burden we are forced to carry indefinitely. This is a challenge that we are overcoming. Each day brings us closer to the restoration of our Constitutional Republic. Each day, the foundations of our government are being strengthened by the people’s resolve to live by the values of truth, justice, and freedom.

The fight is far from over, but the tide has turned. The days of unchecked corruption, manipulation, and deceit are numbered. It is no longer a question of if we will reclaim our nation—but when. The power to choose, the power to stand against the forces that seek to divide and control, is in our hands. And we are choosing to stand united, to push forward, and to ensure that the promises of liberty and justice are fulfilled—not just for ourselves, but for generations to come. The time for change is now, and we are already making it happen.

Along with the removal of Bill Swift from varoius local boards and organazations the Lenawee Republicans have made a statement asking for the Lenawee Democrats to retract the dangerous and unpatriotic statements.

    https://www.facebook.com/lenaweeGOP/posts/pfbid02ggN6W31cTaNpCqJ5edJMd3oWxwWn3iAjU7krs6P5D6wQzqb7Avg31HSn5rRWEMakl

District 5 and it’s Counties Chairs along with Rep. Steve Cara join in those sentiments.

Rep. Steve Carra: ” Bill doesn’t need to explain his warped view of the Constitution to us, he needs to resign and apologize for his heinous remarks inciting Violence”

District 5 Chair, Todd Gillman: “I attended the Agricultural Society of Lenawee County last night, March 7th 2025 for a special meeting to remove Democrat Bill Swift from the association. Mr. Swift got up and gave a 2 minute non-apology “apology” where he doubled down on his hateful rhetoric about President Trump and the Republican Party. Once it was all said and done the society voted to remove Bill Swift from the association, which in my opinion was the correct thing to do, as he is a very divisive and hateful person and has no place on the community board of the Lenawee County Fair.”

Hillsdale County Chair, Josh Gritzmaker: “Are we really surprised by this spewing of nonsense and hatred? The gnashing of teeth? Bill Swift is just the byproduct of what we have continuously seen from the leftists for the past 4+ years.  The tentacles spawn from DC all the way down to the streets of Lenawee County.  Don’t be complacent, be vigilant, stay strong in our values and continue to shine light on this darkness”

Jackson County Chair, Russ Jennings: “It is disgraceful to insinuate that anyone who supports President Donald Trump is a Nazi supporter by association. The JXNGOP feels that this remark and others that were borderline criminal made by Mr. Swift should be taken seriously and at very least he should be removed as chair of the Lenawee Democratic party.”

Berrien County Chair, Ashley White: “In light of recent comments made by a Democratic chair suggesting that Trump supporters should be ‘hung,’ it is important to recognize the dangerous rhetoric that fuels division and violence in our society. This attitude is not surprising, as we have witnessed a pattern of escalating hostility since the 2020 election—from mostly peaceful protests to frivolous lawsuits and the fabricated narrative surrounding January 6th. Such statements are not only irresponsible but also undermine the principles of democracy and civil discourse. It is time for accountability; either the chair should resign or the board must take action to remove such toxic leadership from its ranks.”

St. Joseph County Chair, Ben Myers: “It is disgusting that our liberal opposition continue to spew a dialogue that is divisive and intolerant of opposing viewpoints. The Democratic Party is tolerant of everyone with the exception of anyone that refuses to codify their liberal worldview. They are NOT a party of the people, they are a party that continues to frame their pursuit around one specific agenda…destroying one man, and these comments only validate that they have no consideration for any by-standards in this pursuit. Lenawee’s Democratic Chair has taken a clear position, anyone that supports the President deserves death. His comments are hateful, and we have heard him loud and clear. We heard him say that the opinion of the MAJORITY of America’s voters doesn’t matter. It is no surprise to me that a party that has no regard for the sanctity of human life with almost 64 million unborn babies stripped from the safety of the womb since Roe v. Wade would think twice about exterminating their opposition. We are 77 million strong and we refuse to retreat. I would encourage every American to focus their energy on the things that build collaborative paths and long-term working relationship. But, I’m not holding my breath. The only democrat that was willing to stand during Trump’s address to Congress wasn’t willing to pursue the right dialogue or the right time to share his dissent. This polarizing division in America is troubling, but we (Republicans) refuse to abandon the President and hard working American Stakeholders during this critical time on our Republic’s history.”

Monroe County Chair, Matt Petree: “His “apology” was not even an apology. He said he was sorry about how other people talked about him, not what he said himself.  Typical radical leftist behavior. He’s disconnected from reality and made statements completely devoid of anything factual, while calling for violence against his political opposition. Then, when his actions bring swift and overwhelming blowback, he makes a statement trying to portray himself as the victim of a misportrayal. I’d love to say this was an aberration but, as we’ve seen this week following Trump’s address to Congress, it’s typical behavior of leftists from DC all the way down to Main Street, USA.”

Branch County Chair, Karen Kirkpatrick: “The comments that Chair Bill Swift made cannot be taken out of the intended context.  Due to President Trump winning 312 Electoral votes and the Popular vote, Mr. Swift is effectively calling 81.3 million Americans traitors to the Constitution.  He then continued to say, very specifically, that these traitors should be “hanged until dead”.  That is a clear threat to the majority of Americans, therefore, we should take it seriously.  Any apology he has attempted is meaningless.  Every attempt ends with a “but”, which any school child knows negates or waters down the first statement.  He is not sorry he made these threats.  He is sorry that more Americans don’t have the same deranged thinking that he does.  In fact, he was willing to bet his reputation, community standing, party and, quite possibly, his freedom on it.  The 81.3 million Americans who voted for President Trump knew exactly what and who they were voting for.  The President was very clear during his campaign what he would accomplish while in office for a second term.  He hasn’t surprised any of us, except for the speed in which those things are being accomplished.”

Cass County Chair, Dan Adams: “The lesson here is clear: If we’re unwilling to stand on absolute truth and hold ourselves accountable for words and actions-which is the foundation of sef-government-we lose our grip on common sense, even on reality itself. Bill Swift is clearly not ashamed of his words, although he has repeatedly spewed divisive and hateful rhetoric. I would implore all of us to be prudent with our words at all times, especially when representing others in an official capacity. This whole situation has become a cautionary tale of our current political landscape.”

  • Why We Ditched Screens Monday-Friday—And How It Changed Everything

A few weeks ago, my family made a big decision: No screens, Monday through Friday, until my kids graduate. No TV, no tablets, no video games, no phones —just life, the way it used to be.

I won’t lie—at first, it sounded impossible. Screens had become such a big part of our daily routine that I wasn’t sure how we’d fill the gaps. Would the kids be bored? Would I cave after a few days? But something had to change. I was tired of feeling like we were all glued to our own little digital worlds, procrastinating and zoning out instead of being present.

So, we jumped in. And let me tell you—it has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

At first, there was resistance. The kids asked, “What are we supposed to do?” But after a few days, something incredible happened. They started reading more. They played outside without being asked. They interacted with each other instead of retreating to separate screens. And the best part? They actually get along better now!

Our house, which once felt chaotic with background noise from various devices, feels calmer. There’s more laughter, more conversation, and way less arguing. Even I feel more motivated—I’m reading more, spending more time outside, and getting things done instead of procrastinating in front of a screen.

I never realized how much screens were draining our energy until we stepped away from them.

If you’ve ever thought about cutting back on screen time, I can’t recommend it enough. Start small, stick with it, and watch what happens. The results might just surprise you—just like they did for us. Our relationships are stronger, our time together feels more meaningful, and we’ve rediscovered the simple joys of life without the constant pull of screens.

So, if you’re considering a similar change, know that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Start with small steps, be patient, and give yourself grace along the way. You may just find, like we did, that the best moments in life are the ones we experience fully, without distraction.

Try it. You might be amazed at how much richer life feels when you disconnect to reconnect.

  • Upholding Justice: The Fight Against Corruption in Hillsdale County

As a Party, we are dedicated to upholding the values that our platform represents: fairness, accountability, and the rule of law. Yet, the situation in Hillsdale County illustrates how the abuse of power can erode these core principles. For years, certain individuals in leadership positions within our Party have used their influence to manipulate elections, control judicial outcomes, and suppress dissent. This has created a dangerous precedent where those in power are no longer servants of the people but instead protect their own interests at the expense of justice and the people they vowed to serve.

Despite repeated calls for accountability, the established leadership—those who have maintained power for decades—has turned a blind eye to the misuse of power, even actively fighting against efforts to remove those responsible for these abuses. The Party’s failure to respond to the clear will of the people, as voiced by delegates and concerned citizens, shows how deeply entrenched this corruption has become.

The story of the delegates from District 5 serves as a powerful example of the resistance against this corruption. They stood firm in reaffirming the resolution to hold those accountable, despite threats from Party leadership and the ongoing manipulation of the system. This resilience is exactly what we need in a Party: the courage to challenge the status quo and demand justice, no matter the cost.

However, the challenges aren’t over. The Party’s ability to maintain integrity and follow its foundational principles is at risk if the will of the people continues to be ignored. The delegates’ actions should inspire us all to reflect on what it means to truly uphold the law—not just as a convenient tool for power but as a moral and civic duty.

We, as a Party, must be vigilant, ensuring that those who claim to represent the law do not become the very individuals who corrupt it. The delegates’ courage reminds us that, even when power seems entrenched, the true strength of our Party lies in our collective commitment to accountability and the rule of law. We must continue to fight for a Party that truly represents the people, not just the power-holders, and uphold the law—not as a weapon for the few, but as a shield for the many.

Our Party’s next meeting will be held at 6 PM on March 6th at 7S Manning St, Hillsdale, MI. We encourage all members and concerned citizens to attend, as we continue to stand for accountability, the rule of law, and the will of the people.

  • Holding Representatives Accountable: Delegates Unite

Representatives use the words “law and order” and “nation of laws,” yet they use their elected positions, the influence of being in those seats for decades, and family names to flout the very law and order they profess to uphold.

In the case of Hillsdales representatives, they’ve used their positions to manipulate elections, influence judges, and even go so far as to have the prosecutor and sheriff charge and arrest individuals exercising their First Amendment rights to speak out. All this, only to have a county commissioner drop the case after cleverly seeking out a subpoena—one that, had it been ignored by any average person, would have landed them in jail.

Two years ago, these representatives were removed from the Republican Party for their actions, deemed no longer Republicans after their behavior became known, thanks to the tireless efforts of delegates from their county. Unfortunately, due to the influence and connections built over decades of leadership within their political party, the resolution to remove them, passed almost unanimously, was not just ignored but actively fought against by the parties administration—an administration filled with the same familiar faces who’ve held power for years.

Authority is a tricky thing. When wielded, those in power often believe they have the full weight of law and order on their side—particularly when their interpretation of the law is convenient for them. This interpretation is then used like a club to silence anyone speaking out against their actions. These representatives, elected by their peers to be the arbiters of the very laws they claim to uphold, have instead turned the law into a weapon for self-preservation. After all, it is the order of things, isn’t it?

When those we elect to represent us use their positions to serve themselves rather than the people, it is the delegates’ responsibility to hold them accountable. When the delegates’ voices are ignored or fought against, their duty is even clearer—to keep holding those in power accountable, no matter the opposition.

Last week, at the District Caucus and State Convention, the time came for delegates to choose their representatives and, traditionally, have their voices heard. Every county in the state sends its delegates. District 5, made up of ten counties, faced a serious issue. Their resolution, passed two years ago, had been ignored, and party administration threatened to remove their entire delegation from the State Convention the next day if they followed through with removing those named in the resolution. In the face of these threats, and with the goal of staying at the convention, District 5 chose to reaffirm the resolution and appeal to the new State Committee for accountability—a request that the previous administration had not only ignored but actively fought against.

After two hours of passionate debate on the floor—during which the accused, their cohorts, elected government representatives, several county chairs, and many, many delegates had their say—the vote to reaffirm the resolution passed again. Almost unanimously. The only ones voting against it were the accused and their loyal followers.

Despite this reaffirmation, the administration once again allowed those named into the State Convention.

Despite the threats, the manipulations, and the decades-long power holds, the delegates stood firm. The system might bend, but it hasn’t broken, and they’ve made sure their voices were heard. In a room full of those who’ve mastered the art of influence, it’s refreshing to see that the power of the people—the ones who still remember what ‘law and order’ means—hasn’t been completely silenced. They’ve been given the chance to reaffirm their commitment to accountability, and they’ve done just that.

Though the battle is far from over, the delegates’ resolve is undeniable. The truth is, power may be held by the few for now, but as long as the delegates stand strong, the voice of the people will never be drowned out by the silence of convenience. The law and order they seek to uphold isn’t just a slogan—it’s a duty that will continue to echo in every resolution, every vote, and every challenge they face.

The delegates have spoken. Now, it’s time to make sure those who claim to uphold the law start listening.

  • Homeschool Families: As Unique as Snowflakes

Snowflakes fall softly, each one a masterpiece of nature—no two alike, yet all part of the same breathtaking scene. Homeschool families are much the same. Each one carves its own path, creating a tapestry of learning experiences as varied and extraordinary as the children they nurture.

Just as a snowflake forms its intricate design in response to its environment, each homeschool family molds their educational journey to fit the needs, passions, and rhythms of their home. For some, it’s the structure of early mornings spent with textbooks and lesson plans. For others, it’s the freedom of afternoons filled with art, exploration, and discovery. Each choice, each moment, shapes something beautifully distinct.

Snowflakes don’t follow a template, and neither do homeschoolers. What binds them is not uniformity but purpose—a shared commitment to crafting a learning environment where children can thrive. Whether faith-driven, nature-focused, or centered on unschooling ideals, every family brings its own unique sparkle to the broader homeschool community.

Like snowflakes glistening in the sun, homeschool families reflect the light of their individuality. Some shine with a love of science experiments or math puzzles; others glow with creativity in the arts or the joy of shared adventures. Together, they form a shimmering mosaic, a testament to the boundless possibilities of personalized education.

And yet, within this infinite diversity lies a universal truth: homeschooling is an act of devotion. It’s the dedication to meeting each child where they are and helping them grow into the person they’re meant to be. It’s the courage to forge a path as unique as a snowflake’s journey through the sky.

To those already on this path, take heart in the beauty you’re creating. To those considering it, know that there’s no one way to homeschool—only your way, your family’s one-of-a-kind pattern etched into the world.

Homeschool families, like snowflakes, remind us that individuality isn’t just beautiful—it’s essential. Together, you create a winter wonderland of possibilities, each flake unique, yet collectively magical.

  • America First Movement: Strength and Resilience

The America First Movement Stands Strong

Over the past two years, America First conservatives have walked in lockstep with President Donald J. Trump. How, you ask? Because we, too, have faced backlash from the establishment. We, too, have endured lawfare from the entrenched opposition. We, too, have been smeared as “conspiracy theorists,” “domestic terrorists,” and “right-wing extremists.” And yes—we, too, have had elections stolen from us.

And this happened right here, in your backyard—Hillsdale County, the supposed stronghold of conservatism.

But we did not waver. We stood tall and faced the persecution because the mission was greater than ourselves, bigger than ego, and more important than clout—just as President Trump did. When it was time to work, America First ran circles around the establishment cronies, ensuring victory for Trump and pushing the America First agenda full steam ahead. Our efforts were undeniable. We helped deliver Michigan for Trump by making Hillsdale County the deepest red county in the entire state! Thank you, voters!

Now, two weeks into President Trump’s administration, it has been everything we fought for. The speed at which things are getting done is astonishing. Neocons and leftists alike are spinning, and for the first time in a long time, we are on offense in Washington. The panic from the opposition is expected—their gnashing of teeth is a sweet symphony to the American people. The DOGE audits are exposing corruption, and the shrieks from the entrenched elite are deafening. Every day feels like Christmas for the America First movement.

These past two weeks have also given me time for reflection—particularly on what we, as America First conservatives in Hillsdale, have endured right here at home. Think about it: if your local politicians—those who believe elected office is their career rather than a duty—went to such extreme lengths to keep America First out, what are they hiding? What do they fear? What don’t they want audited by a fresh set of eyes?

Consider the level of lawfare, cheating, and immorality they engaged in just to silence us. Consider how much time and effort they took—away from their own families—just to keep us from having a seat at the table. Now, as you witness the panic in D.C., do you recognize the same desperation among the establishment here in Hillsdale? Their persecution of America First mirrors what D.C. did to Trump. And if history is any guide, I’d bet a dollar the skeletons in their closets are just as damning as what we are now seeing exposed in Washington.

The question is—are you ready to take action and expose it here at home?

If so, I look forward to welcoming you to the Hillsdale Conservative–America First Movement.

    In Liberty,
    Josh Gritzmaker

  • Democrats finally admit America is a Constitutional Republic.

On day three of President Trumps already historic second term, Michigan Democrats have slowly begun to realize America is a Constitutional Republic. This is a big first step in the healing of our Nation, albeit, they have a long way to go and some may never find their way back to reality.

Here in Hillsdale we don’t have a Democrat Party, instead they masquerade as Republicans despite being removed from the State and District they had infiltrated, and after failing at lawfare in an attempt to strongarm themselves back in, instead used their government seats to once again manipulate a precinct delegate election, in order to retain control.

With local Democrat parties across the State and Nation losing their collective minds over President Trump putting Americans First, any sane Democrats that haven’t already left the left, will soon be looking to infiltrate our Republican Parties like they have done here in Hillsdale.

It is more important than ever for Republicans to stand for their principles while teaching the Conservative values that President Trump is now practicing from the Oval Office. While a small minority of loud aggressive Democrats scream at the sky, they are alienating everyone around them. Be gracious victors, take the time to reach out to those disillusioned by the insanity and lets Make America Great Again!

  • From the Ground Up: Chair Gritzmaker on Building a Conservative Movement

A powerful video reveals the underhanded shenanigans of certain powerful people in Hillsdale. It also discloses what YOU can do to help build! Hillsdale Conservatives meet the 1st Thursday of the month (Dec excluded) at 7 S. Manning at 6:00 p.m. in Hillsdale, Michigan Find us on Facebook at Hillsdale Conservatives!

Fighting Corruption: A Conservative Call to Action

Corruption in government has been a recurring theme throughout history, undermining trust in public institutions and eroding the very foundation of our Republic. Conservatives, with their emphasis on personal responsibility, limited government, and adherence to constitutional principles, have a unique opportunity to lead the fight against corrupt governance. To combat this growing issue, we must encourage citizen engagement, hold public officials accountable, and rekindle a sense of civic duty among everyday Americans. The power to effect change lies in the hands of informed, active communities.

The Roots of Corruption and the Conservative Response

At the heart of government corruption lies a disconnect between public servants and the citizens they are meant to represent. Too often, entrenched politicians operate in self-interest, using their positions to consolidate power and wealth rather than serve their constituents. This is exacerbated by a lack of competition, as incumbents frequently run unopposed or benefit from low voter turnout, or in this case, use their government positions to attack their opposition.

Conservatives understand that the best way to counteract these tendencies is to return to the principles of self-governance and accountability. Local government, the closest form of governance to the people, provides an ideal starting point. By empowering citizens to run for township, county, or municipal positions, we can inject fresh perspectives into stagnant systems. As highlighted in the interview, even newcomers to politics can make a difference if they are willing to learn and serve their communities with integrity.

    Engaging the Silent Majority

One of the most alarming aspects of modern governance is the apathy of the electorate. Low voter turnout, particularly in primary elections, ensures that a small, motivated minority often determines the direction of local and national policies. This lack of participation leaves the door wide open for corruption and unrepresentative leadership.

Conservative leaders must focus on educating citizens about the importance of engagement. As Mr. Gritzmaker emphasizes, many voters remain unaware of critical election dates or processes, leading to missed opportunities for meaningful change. To combat this, grassroots organizations should prioritize voter education initiatives, community forums, and outreach programs designed to inform and inspire the electorate. Only when citizens are equipped with knowledge can they hold their leaders accountable and demand transparency.

    Encouraging Citizen Leadership

One of the most striking messages is the call for regular citizens to get off the sidelines and take an active role in governance. Corruption thrives when power is concentrated among a select few, but it diminishes when new voices enter the political arena. Running for office doesn’t require extensive experience or a large financial backing; it requires a commitment to serve the community and uphold conservative principles.

For example, Mr. Gritzmaker campaign for township supervisor illustrates the potential impact of grassroots leadership. While the election was narrowly lost, the effort brought attention to critical local issues and demonstrated that fresh ideas resonate with voters. Such initiatives, even when unsuccessful, lay the groundwork for future victories and signal to entrenched officials that their positions are not guaranteed.

    Holding Officials Accountable

Accountability is a cornerstone of conservative governance. Public officials must be reminded that their role is to serve, not to rule. Mr. Gritzmaker mention of officials doubling down on legal violations or pushing tax increases contrary to conservative values highlights the need for constant vigilance. Citizens should not hesitate to confront their representatives, demand explanations, and, when necessary, replace them.

To foster accountability, transparency measures must be implemented and enforced. Regular audits, open meetings, and public reporting of government activities can ensure that elected officials remain answerable to their constituents. Moreover, grassroots groups can serve as watchdogs, monitoring government actions and providing a platform for community concerns.

    Building a Strong Community Foundation

Fighting corruption also requires building strong, cohesive communities. Organizations like the one described, which engages in charitable activities such as supporting local businesses, aiding families in need, and mentoring future leaders—demonstrate the power of collective action. These efforts not only strengthen the social fabric but also reinforce the conservative belief that private initiative, rather than centralized government, is the key to solving societal problems.

Additionally, such organizations can provide a pipeline for young leaders. By involving younger generations in civic activities, mentorship programs, and volunteer opportunities, conservatives can ensure the values of integrity, service, and patriotism are passed down. As noted, the inclusion of young members in leadership roles signals a promising shift toward sustained engagement and renewal.

    The Path Forward

The fight against government corruption is neither easy nor swift. It requires persistence, courage, and a steadfast commitment to conservative principles. Yet the rewards—a government that truly serves its people and a society rooted in trust and accountability—are well worth the effort.

The path forward begins with local action. Attend township meetings. Support grassroots organizations. Run for office, even if the odds seem daunting. Educate your neighbors about the importance of voting in every election, not just the general one. Together, we can reclaim our Republic from those who have forgotten their responsibility to the people.

As Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” It is our duty to ensure that freedom is preserved by rooting out corruption and restoring faith in the institutions meant to protect it. The time to act is now, and the responsibility lies with us all.

  • Letter From The Chair. Happy New Year!

In October the America 1st Hillsdale Republicans, a political movement now with over 100 members conducted its 2025/2026 leadership elections.  The election also selected a new slate of 12 executive board members.  The board was activated immediately during that session.

The first order of business was discussion of the organizations name, specifically the “Republican” aspect.  The “republican” establishment politicians in the great county of Hillsdale continue to disgrace the party along with the principles of what a true “Republican” is supposed to stand for.  It was never more evident than in the 2024 primary cycle here. The chair of the establishment “republicans” acted shamefully towards his constituents. He lowered the precinct delegate count once again to an all-time low of 50 delegates for the county. His cohorts complied with his every move as usual.  Republicans as a principle want a citizen lead Party that holds it’s Representatives accountable, this individual slaps that principle in the face by shutting off that very aspect he can control.

A continuation of that is millages (taxes) being pushed down the throats of a struggling community, and continued pursuit of pet government projects and expansion of government by these so-called “Republicans”. The county of Hillsdale currently is at its highest number of government employees. Expansions are motivated by “Republicans.” There is a complete disregard of its constituents. This situation is hardly something the “Republican” Mecca of Michigan should hang its hat on.

The list of issues with these long-time institutionalized “Republicans” is the very reason our group is alive, growing and thriving.  We had the deepest red county in the presidential election this past November. Some of these “Republicans” think they know better than you, the lowly citizens of Hillsdale. They are self proclaimed “NEVER TRUMPERS”.  Until we can implement the changes in our local politics the executive board made a decision that we are the alternative to these establishment types, and want to make sure the community knows there is a distinct difference in these two political organizations.  One who says they are “republicans” and one who acts and moves forward as true Conservative Republicans.

Thus, as we enter into 2025, our principles and values stand, our salt of the earth movement continues on, but the name will have a new fresh look as the Hillsdale Conservatives.  The true alternative to this “republican” mess in this great community.  We look forward to bringing you good, fresh, servant minded, CONSERVATIVE candidates to make the changes you the people are yearning for.  We will continue to promote our philanthropy minded service to our community and the struggles they face, and will do what we can as an organization to walk the walk of what you want in a Conservative Republican.  Join us on this journey, and lets together make Hillsdale a Great Conservative County once Again!

  • Merry Christmas from The Hillsdale Conservatives!

At Christmas time especially, it is truly heartening to know that there are so many people within our conservative movement who are giving their time and energy to help others and to make where we live a better place.

On December 14, our membership gathered to celebrate,  I had a special privilege to recognize the valuable work of the many individuals who give of their time for this mission we believe in. This was an enjoyable evening of celebration, reflection, joy and Christmas cheer held at the beautiful Memories on the Hill in Jonesville MI. I would like to thank everyone who attended, but especially the planning committee for making the occasion such a joyful success.

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year – offering the chance to catch up with friends, loved ones and our families.  For me it is also a time to reflect on what has been a busy year for the PAC.  We were able to help a child in need obtain a communication device here locally through Jasminn’s Voice.  We led and participated in many campaign efforts this summer, as well as helping (2) coordinated picnics in our community to help feed those in need.  We put in countless hours to help get Trump re-elected here in Hillsdale, the state of Michigan as well as members efforts in New York, Missouri, Wisconsin and Indiana!  We continue to support Toys for Tots in the summer at our huge Christmas in July event, and had a blast at the County Fair meeting so many good Hillsdalians, many who are joining the movement.  We look forward to 2025 as a time to expand our efforts locally and establishing even more community service events to be the change we can believe in together.

I have been filled with pride during my short time as the new Chairman, it has been a privilege to be nominated and selected by so many members of all ages and from different walks of life. I make this promise that I won’t let you down and we will strengthen, expand and prosper together.

We should all take a step back from our busy lives and enjoy time this festive period with our loved ones.  There is nothing more magical than decorated trees, lights, presents, family and friends to brighten up our lives and spending this season with the people you care for makes it even more special. But it’s also important that this period is used to reflect upon the misfortune of others around us.  Our neighbors, the elderly, the sick or vulnerable, who perhaps are spending the festive period alone or in hardship.  Please do what you can to extend the spirit of Christmas beyond your own home and into the lives of those who may need assistance or kindness shown in the coming weeks.  If we truly are America First, this is exactly how we should live with that mindset.  Be the change you know our community needs.

We should also remember with gratitude everyone who will be working over this holiday period, particularly those in our emergency services and hospitals and to them I extend our sincerest wishes for a peaceful and happy festive period.

On behalf of The Hillsdale Conservatives, I would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

    IN LIBERTY,

    Josh Gritzmaker, Chair
